Finally, after over 45 years as a civil engineering consultant, I have some real time for model railroading and ProTrak.

Officially on August 15th at my choice I "departed my employer" thinking I would continue doing engineering elsewhere.   Natalie, having other ideas, thought a week or so for introspection along the Maine mid-coast would help.   So I can now say with some satisfaction that I am retired as an engineering consultant.

However, ProTrak continues.   Probably a lot better as I now have time to concentrate on it.   Over the past 2-1/2 months about 1/3 of the program has been touched.

The C&NE benefits too.  More on that later.

Jim, ; Congratulations. As you know, I "pulled the pin" on June 30; I have been working my way through projects that have been lying on the workbench far too long. I'm making progress but with the thought always in mind there is no need to rush; I'm still adapting to the new routine but so far I am enjoying it.

See you in October.

Congratulations Gents,

Retiring was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time.  I suspect my brains would have rotted out if I had continued working.  It took me a good six months to not feel guilty for not working (I've worked since I was 12).

Alas, I did get over it.  Now everyday is Saturday, but be warned...they don't pay you for being the CFO of a non-profit, or secretary in a Masonic Lodge, or...the list goes on.  I do get Wednesday and Fridays to myself though, and there is a lot of competition for those precious hours.  Consider yourself duly warned but enjoy yourself.

Have fun,

Mike C
