Quick Tips for ProTrak.org
Howdy,
Andy thought it would be a good idea to share a few quick-start guidelines for Jim's new website, ProTrak.org. Here we gos:
1. User updates are now available in the store: (http://protrak.org/wpt/store/) or from the link on the front page in the What's New box. Once in the store, select the User Update icons to add the update download to your basket (don't worry, they are free). Follow the prompts and a file will be sent to you with the download link.
2. You can move around the website using the black and white navigation bar that reads Home | Products | Store | Support | Users Group | Who we are | Contact Us (see attachment "Navigate.png"). When you mouse over many of the menu selections sub-menus will display with more selections, e.g., Users Group has ProTrak Weekends and Photo Albums under it. Simply select the one you want.
3. The meat and potatoes of the Support area is the Support Forum (see attachment "Support Forum.png"). The Support forum functions like most forums allowing you to read messages and post messages. It will replace the old ProTrag Group on Yahoo. It is organized using the chapters of The Manual. You can post questions, post answers and read answers there. Just pick the sub-forum/Chapter most appropriate for your post. There is also a Crew Lounge area for the lighter side of ProTraking (see attachment "Crew Lounge.png").
4. Here is a link to a quick tutorial on reading topics or posts and replying to them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxhUF1KUymE and here is another: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpCcLSCk2E8.
5. The attached PDF file titled "How to Upload or Attache Files to a Post" (How+to+Upload+or+Attach+Files+to+a+Post.pdf} should help you upload images to your posts. We are working on a video to help you post, upload images, etc.
I hope this gets you started. Next time I will show an example of how to start a topic for your railroad or layout. You'll be able to chronicle your activities, post photos and keep the group up to date on what is happening in your neck of the woods.
Happy rails,
Mike C
