 Jim,

I've searched thru many of the forum entries and don't seem to find a direct answer.

Santa gave me a new laptop for exclusive use in the train room. ProTrak is currently installed on my desktop. I plan to only have ProTrak, DecoderPro and possibly Cadrail  on the new laptop.  To install ProTrak on my new laptop can I first use my original ProTrak CD to install whatever version was applicable in February 2007, and then just download the latest update? My new laptop runs Windows 7.

thanks and Happy New Year to ALL

Joe

Yes.

That is the correct procedure.

P.S.   I have been working on your "car float" issues and hope to have a new Update - shortly.

Jim,

Process worked mostly; but when I brought down Ver 343 and started to run it I was asked the original registration questions i.e.  CD key number and name.  I entered the CD key number with my original 7953 replaced with 7943 and then I got the "Illegal key number. Please try again......" message..  I did register the version that came on my original installation disk and that seemed to go fine.  What am I missing in this simple process?

thanks

Joe

Joe,

Thanks for letting us know.

"It occurred" yesterday while driving into work that I should update the "Update with the new ocx/dll".   That Update would also have the "registration file" protraka.rs2.  I was thinking of suggesting this Update as an intermediate step ... but wanted to keep things simpler.
