These issues happen, believe it or not, when the OCX for serial communications is not registered (Win 10). Register the ocx "mscomm32.ocx" and all will be well.

Explanation:
On Operations startup, if you have even one Grapevine Node listed under "Signaling/Grapevine nodes", ProTrak starts the serial (data) communications routine. If the ocx "mscomm32.ocx" is not available the data-loading routine stops loading data and all you will see is the Operations menu. Under "Report trains" there are no trains listed and under "Yard Operations" there are no yards listed. When you exit Operations you get the message about "No yards" (no data was loaded).
Several solutions: a) If you are >not< using the Grapevine network, delete all the Node listings. b) If you are using Grapevine, then register the ocx "mscomm32.ocx".
