Some of the more advanced features in ProTrak are controlled by options. If the option is off, the feature is not available.
In Operations, under "Query" for a car, a car can be reported as "missing", which places a "report if seen", or "RIS", against the car. RIS usually is a result of when a car is physically taken off the railroad but not marked "de-activated". Or when the yardmaster cannot find a car for an outbound.
RIS is controlled from the "Enhanced Switchlist" option page under "Administration". On that page are a number of dropdowns, mostly for turning on "second line" messages (the car data line is the first line). The "Report car missing" dropdown has three settings: "off", "report" and "report and print second line". To get the option to report a car RIS on Query, this option has to be either "Report" or "Report and print....".
