Jim,

I thought I'd try to get my car float operations going before I come up to Andy's weekend.  I've got kinda close but something isn't happening.

My car float is adjacent to my Riverside Yard so it is in the same switching zone (RVS) as the yard. The car float customer siding SPOT code = RVS-50

That customer is switched by a new RVS-SW (Riverside Yard switcher). The same train will also service the coal tipple I set up with your guidance last week.  The current Yard Blocking for that switcher is RVS-Yd, and RVS-Yd, "all traffic", and Daily operations.

I have set up a 1 session in 2 WB to deliver an XM of  Canada Dry soda to the car float.  I presume it is correct that the Consignee Siding Number in that WB shows 0 0 0 and not the RVS-50 which is what  I clicked on the a right hand side pane..

I have run several sessions and presently have two XM-s in RVS-Yd with Next Loc = 0 0 0.

What doesn't seem to be happening is for those XM-s to be assigned to the RVS-SW.

It's been a while since I've set up a whole new train, so I presume that I am missing a very simple step.

thanks

Joe

Joe,

>...presume it is correct that the Consignee Siding Number in that WB shows 0 0 0 and not the RVS-50

"0 0 0" is >not< correct.  Definitely an invalid siding-number.

First, I would change "RVS-50" to "RVS50t", t as in "team".  This is a relatively new function that allows many "customers" to have the same spot, which is what you want.  ProTrak normally prevents having two or more (many) customers with the same spot.

Please try right-clicking again.

Jim,

I suspected that the 0 0 0 might be wrong.  I'm helping Mr. Palmer with his golf tournament this week and when I get home I am dead tired.  So it'll be early next week when I can try your RVS50t suggestion.

Question - Back in Dec. in a one-on-one email exchange your wrote  "The car-float window appears by clicking the button at the bottom of "Exceptions/Show cars at zones"".  I don't see this car-float button.  Is there something I need to do?

thanks

a very tired Joe

Joe,

Have fun with Mr. Palmer.   Our grass is just vaguely green.   The good news is we can see grass.

The "Report car float" button is "zone specific".  It appears if you click (on the left hand pane) for a zone that has a "car float".

Does that help?
