John Valle and Joe Brann with the assistance of John Mitchell, all of whom were on the editorial review team working under Doug Seymour the author of the ProTrak Basics Manual, are pleased to make available Ver. 1.2 of Chapters 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the PTBM. We recently discovered that we had Doug's edited / updated version of the chapters mentioned above. When Doug made changes from his Ver. 1.1 text all of his new and deleted text was in red text color and that is how he communicated his alterations to the review team.  Those members of the review team who could, would review the text and send comments back to Doug for his processing. We found that many of our comments were included in the red text of Chapters 8-13. This fact leads credence to us that what we have was a nearly ready to release version of chapters 8-13. Our team converted the red text to black text and created PDF files of each chapter (chapter 13 because of its size is in two files). These files can now be found on the ProTrak.org web site.  Note that supporting document sections such as the Table of Contents and the Index were specifically not updated and result in some page number mismatches.

It must be remembered that Doug used ProTrak Ver. 304 as he created Ver. 1.2 of the PTBM, as such many of the screen shots in any chapter of the PTBM may be different from screens in ProTrak Ver. 348 and later versions.

Mike Corley, our fine web host, has made some changes to the options and menus on the ProTrak web site.  You will find a menu item that will take you to a page where you can access all of the currently available sections of the PTBM
(ProTrak Documentation-> Documentation-> Documentation – ProTrak Basics Manual). You will also find another menu item which will take you to a new page titled "ProTrak Basics Manual – Supplemental" (ProTrak Documentation-> Documentation-> ProTrak Basics Manual – Supplemental).  Here you will find an update to Appendix L, the very useful Q&A appendix. John Valle of our team has a collection of Q&A-s that were never published by Doug and they are the basis for this first "Supplemental App L". Also John Mitchell has some additional thoughts on Passenger Operations under ProTrak using Ver. 348 and when he has completed his writing you will find his guidance also under the PTBM Supplements menu. 

Any ProTrak user who feels he/she has expertise in an area that is not covered in the PTBM, or an area that could be updated from what is available in the PTBM is highly encouraged to prepare such input (be sure to indicate the ProTrak version you are using) and post it in the “PTBM Requests” or “PTBM App L Proposals” Support Forums of the ProTrak.org web site. We will review and publish it in the PTBM Supplements section. If you wish to discuss a topic off site please post a note with the subject and your email and John or Joe will contact you directly.

Just remember Jim Moir is no longer with us and Doug had to stop all of his PTBM work in 2016 so unless all existing users carry the ball there will not be any new documentation on ProTrak.
