Jim,

We activated the Cleanout Track at Gresham Yard and I'm having trouble trying to figure out exactly how to manage the traffic to that track.

Looking at cars in Gresham Yard, there are 33 cars sitting on various tracks in the yard with various final destinations of online customers and staging tracks.  These cars all have an interim stop at the Cleanout Track.

The GXRZ train has already run today, so I called it as a Job Extra and reported it, opened it and trimmed, ran the YM update, then reported, opened and trimmed it again (to be safe) but none of the 33 cars have been assigned.  There are no cars at present at the Cleanout.

Also, looking at the Cars Routed to the Cleanout Track in Operation Diagnostics, there are "0" cars.

I take it that these 33 cars in Gresham Yard will not be forwarded to their destination until they visit the Cleanout Track.  If that is true, how do I get them there now, not tomorrow?

I've decided to deactivate the Cleanout Track for now until we can figure out how to control the traffic.

Thanks, Andy

Best, Andy Keeney

Look out for #1 but don't step in #2!!

Hi Andy

I use my yard switcher for clean out (and RIP, weigh and fuel and sand delivery).  The switcher has its origin and destination reporting spots as the Yd and I just keep reporting the switcher at the origin until the end of the session when I report it at the destination.  I have no problems getting these cars to flow though.  Under the Traffic/Scales, Rip and Clean tracks have you assigned your switching train to those tracks?

Hope this helps

Cheers

Peter
