Jim B. asked:
>I have a number of road trains that work at Shenandoah Yard to make set outs and pick ups; how can I allow the pick-ups to be added to the train AND print the new switch list for it to continue on its way WITHOUT clearing its status as classifying? I really don't want these road trains sitting in the yard until whenever the yard crew gets around to classifying the cars on that particular train's cutlist.
There is a "held cutlist" function, that does exactly this. It was added as a request at one of Andy's Weekends - my memory is that Howard drew attention to the need. To be able to get trains out of a yard, before classification of any setoffs.
When you report a train at a yard, you get a window that offers several choices:
- Preview the cutlist (then print) of the setoffs from the train being reported
- print the cutlist
- "Hold setoffs"
- Hold train
- Classify train
The "Preview" and "print" cutlist functions call the classification routines for cars in the setoff-block.
You would select "Hold Setoffs". This holds the setoff cars, and does not call the classification routines.

To get the cars classified, you would go to "Yard Operations", and select the yard and select the option "Hold Cut List: Classify/Print Cut List". This brings up a window, that list trains at that yard.
Select the train, with a Held cutlist, and click the button "Clear Held Cut List".
OK?
