Hi Jim,

Bob and I have been discussing the LCL operation on the Nashville.  At your PT Weekend last Fall, we did have a discussion on how best to set this up.  I can't remember how we ended this discussion and I still have some questions.

======================================

At this time, LCL waybills are setup as follows:

Each waybill begins in a staging track and goes to the LCL Freight house.

At the LCL Freight house, the cars are unloaded and reloaded with a CIT Waybill to return to staging.

At staging, the car is released from the second waybill.

2 problems:

1. At times, I am still getting a LCL Waybill assigned to more than one car in staging.

Example: Waybill #711 was assigned twice to both Train 116 and 176.  That makes 4 cars instead of one heading to the freight house with this one waybill.

2. I am still getting a fair amount of 50 footers assigned to these waybills.  There are several 50 footers at the freight house at this time.  I only want 40 footers.

===================================================

I know that we discussed these problems in the passed but not sure what we came up with.

Bob had thought that you or Howard suggested to have a new waybill coming out of the LCL freight house to staging and CIT to a waybill from staging back to the LCL Freight house and then released.  This would control the 50' car problem since the freight house can limit the car length to 40 footers.\ but I see it making a problem for our operation the way I have it setup.

Before I go any further, I would appreciate you or Howard commenting on this.

Thanks, Andy

Best, Andy Keeney

Look out for #1 but don't step in #2!!
