Hi Jim, I downloaded the 321 update and rather than run a full computer session (due to time), I annulled every train on the schedule and then ran the Daily Summary. I'm not sure if that will allow all cars in staging to be reloaded or not, as it would normally be if all trains have been run but thought I would try it.
Looking at the car inventory list, there is still only one car heading to the LCL Freight house from all staging tracks. The same one as earlier reported.
The point that I wanted to make here is that after doing the above, I have 30 LCL Waybills/Car orders that were not filled. Seven due to no empties and the rest still due to length.
I will try to run a full computer session over the weekend if I get enough time.
Your thoughts?
Thanks, Andy

Andy,
New Update posted, based on looking at your data.
The issue was that the waybill length, for the LCL waybills, is set at 20 or 36 ft but needs to be 40 ft. You could not adjust this waybill length for the LCL (and other "exact length") waybills.
You need to do one thing, and should do another.
1. After downloading this new Update, open each of your LCL waybills, then click "Save and Close". This action will automatically correct the LCL waybill length.
2. It would be helpful it you also checked the car-order list, and set the "Priority" to "Independent of station order". Go to "Edit/Show" "Show number of car-orders at customers". "Show car order llist". Check the "Show waybill prioritizing options". Click on "Independent of station order" and then click "Prioritize".
Your LCL waybills, being 2000 cuft, will be about 1/2 way down the list. During the Daily Summary you can watch the car-orders/waybills being called in the order shown.
~~~
A correction to what I said earlier: The priority list is based on the largest waybill -by volume- in the car-orders for that day. For example, if you have 5 car-orders for a single day, the priority routine in ProTrak looks at each of the five waybills, finds the largest and prioritizes on that waybill. It can be any of the five waybills (not the first one as I mistaken said the other day).
When you look at your car-orders you will see that this really only matters for XM and LO, especially LO.
As mentioned this afternoon, I did add a dangerous button to the List of Cars - "Empty boxcars". I used this to work from all box cars empty while debugging this issue. I left the button active in this Update.
Good to talk with you this afternoon.
Thank you much, Jim. This is really a big help in getting the LCL operation up and running. I really appreciate the time that you take to help us out with specific problems.
I'll let you know how it goes as soon as I can get a computer session done.
It was good talking to you today, also.
Joe,
No, it does not include all items discussed in October.
~~~
Nineteen modules have been modified since the Weekend, including the "car float" module.
- Jim Brewer's request for a "Print One Train" button, on the re-blocking form was added (easily).
- My request to show more pickups on the Train Consist was added; (i.e instead of being limited by the total car count, the on-screen Train Consist list is now limited by the number of pickups up to "pickups = maximum car count".
I looked at/for Fred's issue with cars belonging to "*" railroad showing on the non-routed window, unsuccessfully.
I started looking at Andy's request for incremental Daily-Summary type uopdating of trains arriving in staging, which turned into more than I anticipated.

I know this is a late reply.Jim M, don't forget that some of us don't have many 40 footers and 34 foot and 36 foot are our common sizes.
Howard Garner
I was using "40-footers" as an example. The same applies to 36-footers ... and 50-footers.
~~~
Presently the program, under its application of Rule 34, groups 36-footers and 30-footers. It does not subdivide out 34-footers as a separate length-group. Do you want me to add "34-fters" ?
No problem with 30-36 ft. Just don't include the 28 footers.
Howard
Howard,
OK, sounds like I need to make a change.
As things stand now, the allowable variation in car length is plus/minus 2-feet. So specifying a 30-ft will include 28-ft (and anything shorter).
How about I reduce the allowable variation to ~1 ft for 30 footers and add a 34- footer group?
Jim
