Hi Jim,
After I installed on a new computer, I've been reviewing some of the allocations made in my first go around with PT.
In my customer base, one of my special tracks is called Tie-Up and another is called Ready.
In my mind, a tie-up track is used in smaller facilities and is used for overnight stays. A Ready track is at a large facility to store loco's after they have been serviced and keep them ready to go out on the next train.
But, how does PT differentiate in the program?? What does it mean to choose one over the other??
Thanks
John

ProTrak uses the same meanings as you describe:
- a tie up track is where the unit is temporarily "parked", with the reverser removed. No re-fueling/sanding is done.
- ready track is where a locomotive is placed after re-fueling/sanding and is ready to be assigned.
In ProTrak, the difference is the fueling/sanding. At the moment, these functions are not applied, in the public version of the program.
Jim
