Jim,
1) The window under Admin / Active Staging Options shows the "Total staging capacity of the RR in cars". My count there used to be 151 cars but now it is 16, yet I have not changed the length of any of my staging tracks. Looking back at some of my saved ProTrak folders the decrease from 151 to 16 occurred in the spring / summer time frame possible involving ver. 331 - 339. I just 0-ed out all the lengths of my 6 staging tracks and then reinstalled the original lengths and I still get a capacity of only 16 cars. For ex. a track of length 1148-feet only showed a capacity of 3 cars. Does the capacity of each staging track have any impact on the number of cars sent on trains to each track? Do you know why I had the sudden decrease from 151 to 16. You should probably be able to see this in the ProTrak folder I sent up a few weeks ago.
2) The window under Railroad / Staging tracks to offline points - car order column. I show 0 car orders for each of my tracks, yet when I look at Andy's recent data, and your data from 2013 I see non-zero numbers under the car order column. I do have WB-s that are ordered which originate and/or terminate on one of my staging tracks. Can you explain why I see only 0 car orders.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of my wonderful ProTrak colleagues

Joe,
1. > The window under Admin / Active Staging Options shows the "Total staging capacity of the RR in cars". My count there used to be 151 cars but now it is 16
Three of your cars have a coded car length of -10044 ft giving a total length of all cars of over 33,000 ft. Should be around 3400 ft. (This coding was introduced on 29Apr16.)
I have modified the ActiveStagingOptions window so that it knows how to deal with this coding. And it now shows "151". Thanks for the heads-up.
2. >Does the capacity of each staging track have any impact on the number of cars sent on trains to each track?
Yes. When a train's next reporting location is a staging track, the total train length is limited to the length of the staging track. The "Switchlist" (train-consist) routines add up the "length of the locomotive" + "the length of the caboose" + "the length of all cars assigned" - minus "the length of cars being setoff". When the train-length exceeds the staging-track length further cars are either not assigned or are dropped off.
OK?
Jim

Yes.
You have >no< OV car-orders. You have no OV waybills. As you say, all your waybills either originate offline or are destined offline - but none go offline to offline.
OK?

Jim,
I probably had 3 cars on my car float. Doesn't ProTrak internally use different car lengths to designate specific things, like car being on a car float?

OH, I didn't know that the column / window was specific to OV traffic. Might it be prudent to change the column heading from "Car Orders" to "OV Car Orders" to avoid similar questions in the future.
