I know that I should know how to do this, but

1.  When the yard switcher picks up a bunch of cars from the local industrie as well as RIP, clean out and weighing, the destination is the Yd. How does the engineer know where to classify them?  At the moment, he simply drops them wherever he can in the Yd.

2.  On the Yd Re-direct list, the final destination is listed.  I think I would prefer having the next yard (or the next train) so that the yardmaster can classify to the correct track.  For instance, a car in a C&O yard is re-directed to Toronto via the CPR.  That means that the car has to go to another C&O yard where it can then be interchanged with the NYC,  which in turn has a direct connection to the CPR's final destination in TOFs. I know that PT will send it out on the correct connecting trains, but the original C&O yardmaster doesn't have a clue where to classify this car in his yard.

Perhaps I need another track in each yard for these unknown (to the local yardmaster) destinations.

Hi John, don't you get a cutlist when you report the train back at the yard? Best , Andy

Hi Andy,

Not when you use the individual "Car set Off" feature.  Plus, I don't recall getting an automated "cut list" when I report the yard switcher dropping the cars in the yard ie a one station, repeatable, switcher.  Maybe I can call one up from the yardmaster tool.

I always seem to have a problem with the single report, repeating jobs.  I would rather use the regular 3 reporting points "origin/turn point/terminal" for the train and after it runs, I immediately recall it as a job extra to get it back on the list of trains schedule.  I would like to try the other options but haven't had great luck.  Best , Andy

John

I've been away and am catching up on things. On repeating yard jobs I get a cut list by clicking yes when you are asked if you want to open the train for more cars when you report the second time and have the cars that have been picked up in the train. I hope this makes sense.
