Mike,

I need more information, please.

Is it the "edit" window for yards that "freezes"?  Or does it just not appear?

Which menu did you use to get to the "edit" window?    Traffic/Yards?  Or Traffic/Customers?

When working in the "PRO" railroad data, is there an existing "Yd"?   If not, did you create new yard (Edit/New yard)?

Thanks,

Jim,

I was at the "Train Reporting Location" section.  Figure 5-18 and I agree.  I then hit Edit and selected "New Yard".  The window shown in Figure 5-19 reads the same as mine except I can't get the next steps to work...radio button stays on 'yard with many tracks'.  Also, the background around the items in the upper left corner, including 'Zone/Station, is black.  No other data boxes will open either.

I recycled the program with no results.  I haven't gone any further than this 5-16 page.  Is this a glitch I can bypass?

Mike,

>Also, the background around the items in the upper left corner, including 'Zone/Station, is black

That, the upper left pane being dis-abled, happens when there are trains moving.

On program start-up, the program checks for trains that have been moved past their first reporting location.  If trains are moving a number of datafields that affect trains are dis-abled.

You can reset trains to their initial location (for data setup purposes) at "Help/Emergency Reset".   Click the "place all trains at their starting location", etc.  (This window closes by itself.)

OK?

Thanks Jim...that cleared it up.  Good to know about that black background. Onward.
