Jim,

I believe this question was answered years ago on the Yahoo mail group but I cannot access that now.  I am considering getting a laptop computer for use back in the train room and the train work room.  This new computer would be in addition to the tower I have here in our desk room.  I'm interested in putting DecoderPro on the new laptop and of course I'd be interested in having ProTrak on that machine also. What do I need to do to legally put ProTrak on a second computer?  I don't envision, at present, having these two computers networked for use in an operating session.

thanks

Joe,

>What do I need to do to legally put ProTrak on a second computer?

You have the unlimited version.... so install away.

My preference is for people to use ProTrak; an individual (with the unlimited version) may put ProTrak on as many computers as they own.

What I might object to is many people all using the same copy.

OK?

Thanks Jim for the reply.   So I can install ProTrak from my version 259 CD and then come to this forum and in one fell swoop update to version 318. Correct?

thanks

Yes.

To other members of our community:

The current Update can replace any version installed from the CD.

From about Build 143; prior to that you need to re-load the locomotive files.  And some of the data files have to be updated but the program does that automatically (once).
