Jim,

Been working the example railroad in the manual with minimal problems.  However, Chapter 9, page 16, window does not open when I tried instruction at bottom of page.  Is this important or should I just keep moving?

Jim,

This is an addition to my original post.  I noticed in the Installation section of the Forum, that someone else had this problem.  What they did was to register the  "msstdfmt.dll" .  Interesting, because I did this just to get the program to load in my computer.

Question: does this .dll file have to be updated or re-registered again?

Jim:

This problem is fixed.  I re-registered the msstdfmt.dll file.

So...I have recorded another note in my ProTrak...

Mike,

Thanks for letting us know.

Just so we all understand, the various DLL and OCX that need to be registered, while used by ProTrak, are a Windows issue.

When ProTrak is initially installed (by the program Installshield), the installation looks for newer DLL/OCX that are already on your computer.  If the DLL or OCX is there and newer Installshield does not over-write a newer version.  Other programs on your computer may have installed those DLL or OCX and would be using them.

Also, when you register a DLL or OCX manually you should get a message (along the lines of) "Registration successful".

This registration, if successful, is done only once.
