The "Work Order" is the yard list which is used to build a block of cars for an outbound train.

The addition is to add the direction of the block, printed on the Work Order.   The direction that a block is built, by "east to west" or by "caboose at west", depends on the direction the train, the block is for, is moving.  Before the first car listed you will now see "East" (or another correct direction); after the last car printed you will see "West" printed.

This addition save you marking up the Work Order with arrows and/or puzzling over which end of the block goes "east", or building the block in the wrong direction.   i.e. makes the yard work easier.

Notes:

1.  "Work Order" is base-case jargon used in ProTrak.  If you call this list something else you can change this at the Administration menu.

In ProTrak a Work Order is any work directed by a Foreman (as opposed to a conductor).

2.  This addition will print "North" and "South" if the Time Table direction of your railroad is north/south.

3.  This addition knows about turns.  If the yard is the turning point for the train, the block is build in the direction for the outbound leg of the turn-train.

4.   This addition knows about Work Order lists printed "Caboose to Locomotive" and lists printed "Locomotive to Caboose".

5. This Work Order is used by the "trim job" to block a train (or block) in the correct outbound standing-order.

6.  If your railroad has significant grades, and your cars have significantly different weight/lengths I recommend following the Work Order blocking.

OK?
