Today's Update 343 makes three changes:
1) the option for printing the car-stability number on the train-consist and yard Workorder has been expanded to give you three options:
- print on both the train-consist and the yard Workorder
- print on only the yard Workorder
- print on neither.
This is now a dropdown selection.
The car-handling code is printed (as before) when the car-stability number is not printed. The purpose of showing the car stability number is to guide a yardmaster in marshalling a train to prevent car instability issues (stringlining or buckling). The value of the car stability number varies from about 20 up to 100. A car showing 100 is the most stable. A car showing 20 to 40 should be carefully marshalled, either at the end of the train or behind a helper.
(As before the program calculates the marshalling for a stable train.) The car-stability number may be used by the yardmaster to marshall a train in another order, which also would be stable. Flexibility for the yardmaster. Possible reduction in train 'trimming' time/work.
2. The yardmaster's "Trains that serve" yard printout has been (slightly) re-formatted to display local-service zones on a second line (for a train). Local editors prefer this format, as being 'cleaner' and easier to understand.
3. A correction: When displaying/re-printing a workorder and/or train-consist the order of the cars would change. This was tracked down to cars going to a customer when there was more than one car going to that customer. (If the train-consist was displayed those cars to that customer would be displayed in one order, and if the train-consist was displayed a second time, the cars would be displayed in the opposite order. The order of the cars was being "toggled". Printing the Workorder then the train-consist would show the same 'toggling'.) This has been corrected.
This is one of the items from the October Weekend.
OK?
Happy New Year!
Jim
