1.  Put the USB memory stick in the USB port.

2.  Make sure you select the correct drive number (ProTrak will likely have found the correct drive number - from the previous steps in the installation.)

3.  When you un-zip the "electronic package zip file" make sure you save the un-zipped files.

4.  Make sure you save the unzipped files to the root of the USB memory stick.  (i.e. not a folder on the USB memory stick)

Thanks

Got it

Resolving the ocx issue I see that the file mscomtrl.ocx does not exist in my system folder.

There is a mscomctl.ocx

I copied the mscomctl.ocx file to the windows\system32 folder

Now going to the command prompt running as administrator I type regsvr32 mscomtrl or regsvr32mscomctl and get the messagProtrak-Reg.PNG

e attached

From an earlier message in the "Installation" section of the forum.....

Note: Type "regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx".   Include the suffix of the OCX.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So far, when using Win10, I have found >four< ocx/dll that need to be registered.
It is easy to register them all at the same time.
The DLL/OCX are:
1)  mscomctl.ocx
2)  mscomct2.ocx
3)  msstdfmt.DLL
4)  mscomm32.ocx.
~~~

In Windows 10, select the windows button at the lower left.   Select "All apps". Scroll down to "Windows System", where you will see a dropdown symbol.  Click on that and >right<-click on "Run as administrator".   Then answer "Yes".

The command window (with a black background opens) and on my machine it read "C:\WINDOWS\system32 >".

Type "regsvr32" and the DLL or OCX name.  e.g.  Type "regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx" and then hit <Enter>.   You will get a message saying that it was successful.

Repeat with the other three DLL/OCX listed above.

In as much the error message you show above says "...module could not be found" did you, in following the instructions above exactly, does your computer show that the command prompt is at "C:\WINDOWS\system32 >" ?

~~~~~
Which version of Windows are you using?   Have you set the folders option to uncheck "Hide known extensions" ?
"The specified module could not be found".   Your error message.
That error message is pretty clear that the OCX you attempted to register is not in your Windows\System32 folder.
You need to copy the OCX/DLL to that folder and then verify that they are there.
~~~

Please note that you (almost certainly) need to set the folder options to show known (or registered) file extensions.  Otherwise you cannot tell different files apart which have the same name but different suffix.

You will have to ask the person who sold you the computer.

Jim Mull, (assuming, as you do not sign your messages)

I have helped you as much as I can.  You have Windows issues on your computer, which are not at all related to ProTrak.

I will happily help you with ProTrak.

But for Windows issues specific to your computer you will have to approach the person who sold your computer.  OK?
