The Update (328 - 14April2016) just posted makes two additions:

1) Advance Train Consist - on the prototype the Advance Train Consist is available to yardmasters, before a train arrives at their yard.  It is "wired ahead": by printing-telegraph, or by machine-card-system and from the late 50s by the computer network.  The Advance Train Consist is used for planning yard operations.

In ProTrak, there is a new button, on the "Reporting movements" window, "Advance List".  This button appears only after the train-consist has been printed for the train.  Clicking the "Advance List" button displays the usual train-consist, but nothing can be changed.

This provides a yardmaster with more information than appears on the "Yard Operations/Preview pickups/setouts" window.

2)  The optional "predictive loading" routines move empty cars towards a location where they might be loaded the following "day".  These car movements occur >before< a car is assigned a car-order/waybill.   These routines pre-position cars.

The routines were added in 2014, and back then ran only during the Daily Summary.

The addition today is that these routines now run also during Operations.

A side-benefit is that empty cars, which would otherwise by in storage at a yard, are moved out of the yard.  Towards a customer.

Please note that "predictive loading" applies only customers who uniquely use a particular carkind.   If more than 2 customers use the same carkind, no predictive loading is applied.

OK?

There is also one change, in the Cutlist routines.   Some of you may have found that a train that terminates in a Yd yard on-occasion was displaying a blank cutlist (no cars).   This only happened sometimes, was not predictable.   At the cutlist level I know what was happening (the count of cars in the arriving train was being set incorrectly to zero), but not why.  To fix the issue I made a change to how the cutlist was loaded, avoiding the car-count variable.  More solid and more redundant approach.

Works here.

Thanks, Jim, I noticed that also, at times.  We can give that a good workout in a couple of weeks!! 😉 Best, Andy
