For 28 years ProTrak has had one "default" yard. This is a car's first location when placed on your railroad. It is also the location at which a "lost" car is placed.
This Yd - yard is also the location to which an empty, non-assigned, home-road car is directed.
(Re-call you can also have "multiple home-roads", each with its own "home" Yd yard.)
We have some mighty large and complex railroads using ProTrak, and one "home road yard when empty" is not adequate. For example, if the one "home road when empty" yard is at the west end of the railroad, why should empty, home road cars that will used only on the east end be hauled all the way west?
An optional second "home road when empty" has been added. The first would be used for the east end of the railroad and the second would cover the west end of the railroad. The railroad is "divided" by a selected station.
~~~
To use this option, go "Administration/Spot format and Special SPOTs". Note the second pane on the left, and note the two optional datafields for the second "home road when empty" yard, and the "dividing station".
Home road cars made empty >west< of the dividing station are sent to the second "home road when empty" yard.
OK?
Jim
