This Update adds two new functions:

1)  - a list of cars moved by the program to the "default yard"

2)  - a list of cars that have been classified.

OK?

              Jim

Explanation, Classified Cars:

In Operations, there is a command "Yardmaster/Route cars at Yards and Customers".  This command opens a small window, which shows a progress bar, and, if a car is classified, the car initials and number.  Previously, this data was displayed only, and not saved.

Now this data is saved and can be displayed as a list.  The list can be found, in Operations, at a new menu item immediately below "Yardmaster/Route cars at Yards and Customers", at the new item "Show Classified Cars".

The new list can be Printed.  Also, a single car be selected to be deleted from the list, or all cars may be deleted from the list.

The column headers may be clicked to sort the list according to the column header just clicked.

The number shown under "Day" is the session number when the car was classified.

This list is not zero'ed (reset or cleared).  You must clear the list to reset the list.

Explanation, Lost Cars:

"In the rare event" that a car becomes lost, ProTrak moves the car to the appropriate default yard.   A car is "lost" if the car location does not match the train that the car has been assigned to. That is, if the car location, for example, is "AABB" (AABB is a train symbol) but on checking the list of cars assigned to train AABB, the car is not assigned.

Previously this program action was not visibly noted... but being such a rare event this wasn't an issue.  The LostCar data is in the file "LostCars.###" where ### is the session number.  If you check your railroad data, these files are there but has a size of "0".   ("Housekeeping" removes these un-needed files.)

There are, presently, three default yards for:

1)  standard gage freight cars

2)  narrow gage freight cars

3) passenger cars.

The list is zero-ed with the Daily Summary (new session, or a new day.)

Now about "multiple homeroads" (for your terminal railroad operators.....)

The data entry works.  That's it.   Work in progress.

You may see the new data entry window from two locations:

1)  from the main menu, under "The Railroad", a new menu item "Multiple Home Railroads"

2)  from the main menu under "Admin/Spot format and special spots", new button at bottom "Multiple Home Railroads".

a) On the new window, to add a new homeroad, click on the dropdown under "Railroad name".  Select the appropriate railroad.  Once selected, the initials appear in the datafield to the left.

Note that "Railroad #1" is initially set as the first homeroad.  If the first datafield is blank, Railroad #1 is inserted.  This can be changed, later, by selecting another railroad from the dropdown on this window.

For the Texas Western, I would suggest leaving "Railroad #1" set as Texas Western, and if ncessary or desirable, to later changed the first home railroad.

b)  The default yard selection is optional.  However, if you wish cars of the specified railroad ownership (non-assigned under "when empty return to") to return empty to a specific yard, please select the appropriate yard.

Note that the yards listed in the dropdown are those presently defined (See "Yards and Interchanges").

OK?

Great, thanks Jim. I have more information from the TWMRC railroad experts and NHRS members, so I'll begin populating this week. Best regards, mike c
