I'm really looking forward to this, Jim.  One of the things that I really want to be able to do is get a reading of the correct consist order of the cars in the train as it enters the yard. This will allow the cutlist to be printed in that consist order.  This will be a great help to the yard crews when they are working with long trains. Thanks for working on this. Best, Andy

I,m with you Andy on this one.    I figure RFID could add quite a lot of enjoyment to operations with Protrak.

I should mention that the RFID function allows for each RFID reader to send data one of three ways:

a)  directly through a USB (serial communications) port

b)  through an XBee (wireless) connection to an (XBee) USB port

c)  as a web device.

The latter uses the "multiple computers" code in ProTrak to receive data.   So we need multiple computers for that function!

I am doing this incrementally, starting with the direct USB port ("a").
